Launching Ceremony of IAB’s Standard Agreements, New Website & Membership Portal and Sample Employment Handbook was held on 1^st September evening at the IAB Centre. This inaugural program was the culmination of last four years tedious works of a few dedicated IAB Members. At the beginning of the program, IAB President Kazi Golam Nasir delivered his welcome speech.

The brief introduction to the new website and the standard agreements, membership portal & the sample employment handbook were presented respectively by the Vice President of IAB Ar. Jalal Ahmed and the Secretary, Membership of IAB Ar. Tofayel Md. Sarower and Ar. Mamnoon Murshed Chowdhury.

Then the two special guests, the Past President of IAB, Ar. Mubasshar Hussain and RAJUK Chairman Engr. Md. Abdur Rahman delivered their speeches. Finally, the Chief Guest of the ceremony, Secretary, Ministry of Housing & Public Works Mr. Md Shahid Ulla Khandaker delivered his speech. The chief guest and the special guests congratulated those who prepared these documents and developed the informative and interactive website and the membership portal. The Secretary of MOHPW and the RAJUK Chairman assured and extended all possible support to IAB in the initiatives of mutual interest.

The covers of the two booklets were formally unveiled by the Guests and the President & Vice President of IAB. Finally the new website was formally launched by the Chief Guest. The program ended with a vote of thanks from the Vice President of IAB, followed by dinner.

The program was attended by huge number of IAB Members and received lot of appreciation from them. Drafting and publishing of these standard documents are considered as milestone works since the founding of the Institute and they are expected to help develop professionalism and systematic delivery of services by the Architects. The printed version of the introductory booklets and the 16 types of agreements (total about 250 pages) will be available for sale for the Members from the mid-September’18 for trial use and the downloadable web version will be available from mid-October’18.

The Members are encouraged to procure the booklets and carefully read as well as distribute them to their clients explaining the benefits of using these new standard agreements & the scale of fees in their projects. After trial use by the interested Members till the end of this year, these agreements are expected to be in regular use from early 2019.
