The Institute of Architects Bangladesh hosted the roundtable discussion on "mainstreaming universal accessibility in planning and infrastructure policies of Bangladesh"
The government of Bangladesh determined to meet the SDG goal and UN Habitat, has embarked on a mission to mainstream “Leaving No One Behind” in national urban policies and programmes (SDG 11 & 6) in South Asia (LNOB). In this context, the Ministry of Public Works and UN Habitat organized a workshop and stakeholder consultation for ‘Mainstreaming Universal Accessibility in Planning and Infrastructure Policies of Bangladesh', which was held on December 5, 2023, at the IAB Centre, Agargaon Sher-E-Banglanagar.
The consultation was attended by more than twenty-five sectoral experts and representatives of various government departments, including the Housing and Building Research Institute (HBRI), the Department of Architecture, the Bangladesh Society for the Change and Advocacy Nexus (B-SCAN), and the Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP), among others.
