Prof. Dr. Khandaker Shabbir Ahmed, President of the IAB, participated in the opening ceremony of an exhibition on Friday, February 16th, at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka. The exhibition showcased the outcomes of a joint workshop organized as part of a project by EUNIC. EUNIC Bangladesh (comprising Alliance Française de Dhaka, British Council Bangladesh, and Goethe Institute Dhaka), along with the European Union delegation, initiated an architecture project titled "Learning From Puran Dhaka." This project involved 60 students from Europe, Africa, Bangladesh, Korea, and India who participated in the workshop held in Old Dhaka from February 4th to February 15th, 2024.
During the event, Prof. Dr. Ahmed commended the students and their mentors for producing insightful work that captured the essence of life within and around the heritage sites, incorporating architectural dimensions.
Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh MP, Mayor of South City Corporation, Ambassador Antonio Alessdandro, Embassy of Italy, Mr Thijs Woudstar, Deputy Head of Mission, Kingdom of Netherlands, Ambassador Marie Masdupuy, Embassy of France Bangladesh, Mr Tom Miscioscia, Director British Council Bangladesh joined the event along with a number of architects, academics, artists, enthusiasts and other officials joined the event and the event was hosted by Mr Francois Grosjean, Director AF Dhaka.
