A meeting took place on March 11, 2024, between the Honorable Adviser, Mr. Salman F Rahman, Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, and the senior leadership of the IAB. Discussions encompassed key issues within the building industry, urban fire safety, and mitigation strategies, alongside recent initiatives introduced by the IAB, notably the Public Help Desk for short-term mitigation measures. The provision of technical services through this platform presents an opportunity for small and medium enterprises to revive and advance their businesses while ensuring adherence to safety regulations and codes. The IAB delegation highlighted the architectural community's dedication to implementing constructive interventions. Strategic decisions were made during the meeting to engage other relevant agencies in collaborative efforts. Mr. Salman commended the IAB's forward-thinking approach, particularly their plans to involve overseas members in IAB activities. The delegation from IAB comprised President Prof. Dr. Khandaker Shabbir Ahmed, Vice President for National Affairs Prof. Ali Naqi, Vice President for International Affairs Md. Mahfuzul Huq Zaglul, and General Secretary Nabi Newaz Khan.
