The Commonwealth Association of Architects is delighted to announce that registration is now open for the 2024 CAA General Assembly and Symposium which will take place between 20-24 August 2024 in Kigali, Rwanda.

Hosted jointly by the Rwanda Association of Architects and the University of Rwanda, the event is being convened under the theme of ‘'Education, Policy, and Practice; advancing the Declaration on Sustainable Urbanisation in the Commonwealth’ and will consider current challenges from the perspective of:

· New frontiers in architectural education.

· Design, sustainability and urbanism.

· Scale and scalability.

The event will build upon the Declaration on Sustainable Urbanisation adopted by Heads of Government at the 2022 Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting and will focus on the ways in which we can leverage the Commonwealth network to deliver practical action in terms of skills development, action research, knowledge sharing and capacity building.

The organisers invite contributions to the symposium in the form of extended abstracts, from academics, students, policymakers, and practitioners, as well as those from allied built environment professions with an interest in submitting to the Conference Scientific Committee for evaluation. The Deadline for the submission of abstracts is 31 May 2024.
