Institute of Architects Bangladesh invited a number of eminent architects for consultations about its plan of action on the issue of fire safety in buildings on 2 April 2019.
Ar. Mubasshar Hussain, Ar. Mustapha Khalid Palash, Ar. Rafiq Azam. Ar. Mohammad Foyez Ullah, Ar. Ziaul Islam and Ar. Dewan Shamsul Arif attended the meeting, where IAB General Secretary Ar. Nowajish Mahbub presented IAB's immediate and long term work plans.
It may be mentioned that a workshop with architects having expertise on fire safety issues is scheduled to be held on 6 April 2019.
A CPD event on Means of Egress will be held on 7 April 2019. There will be one CPD event each month on this topic.
The eminent architects proposed some long and short term plans to engage the architect community for ensuring fire safety in both old and new part of Dhaka. The meeting resolved to take up such activities immediately. Details will be announced soon.
